include:
Nordic Walkfit Classes for Gentle / Beginner – A great workout for those wishing to
get started, learn proper form and technique of nordic walking and walk at a slower pace.
This class is also good pace for healthy Seniors or anyone rehabilitating an injury.
Classes are 1 hour in length and participants must be able to walk for an hour
with little / no difficulty.
Nordic Walk Fat Burner for Intermediate/Advanced - A great way
to burn fat as a primary source of energy. This 60 minute, brisk paced class
will help you burn twice as
much fat as exercising too hard or too easy. It focuses on using slow twitch
muscle fibers to help burn fats and lactate by working you at a 'steady state'.
This class is for 'Fit' individuals with little to no physical/health
limitations. You will learn the proper form and technique of nordic walking
while on the move!
Nordic Fusion for Intermediate/Advanced - Led by a certified personal
trainer, this nordic walkfit class offers short intervals of specific exercises
that will target and firm your butt, improve your balance and strengthen your
core. The exercises are functional and popular with personal trainers ie.
squats, lunges, planks etc. The use of hills, benches, trees, curbs, parks,
balls, tubes, discs, variety of speeds and poling action all help to make this class not only
challenging but fun. This class is perfect for anyone intermediate to
advanced in their fitness level.
Advanced Nordic Fusion (Boot Camp style for variety, fun and fitness ) - Led by a certified
personal trainer, this class is a healthy mix of stimulating, creative and
challenging drills and exercises. Equipment used in this class includes Bosu's,
TRX's, tubes, discs, small balls etc to greatly improve your
strength, speed, balance and agility. The use of Urban poles help produce an
aerobic, fat burning component as well as improvements in posture. This class
takes place exclusively in Walter Baker Park off Terry Fox Dr/Kanata.
5k, 10k and ½ Marathon Nordic Walk Training *This class is
great for anyone wishing to prepare /enter races or for those very fit
individuals looking for a good challenge. Led by a marathon coach this course
will increase your distance, speed and endurance. You will meet with your coach
1x per week for quality workouts of intervals and variety of hill work.
Course includes an outlined workout schedule for 2 other workouts during the
week, instructions on proper form & technique, fit/nutrition tips, guidance and
assistance with race registrations.
